1914-2007 Rosa Carty Richardson, of Shawsville, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2007, at Richfield Care and Recovery in Salem.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Davis Richardson; a grandson, Brian Scott Hall; two brothers, Hess Carty of Wytheville and John Carty of Bristol; one half brother, Walter Carty of Pulaski; one sister, Ozelle Huddle of Wytheville; her parents, Maiden and Elizabeth Carty of Abingdon and her step mother, Allie Carty of Abingdon.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence Davis and Barbara Richardson of Marietta, Ga.; one daughter and son-in-law, Vera and Bobby Hall of Shawsville; four grandsons, Larry and Sherri Richardson of Breman, Ga., Sammy and Debbie Richardson of Canton, Ga., Robbie and Sharon Hall of Christiansburg, Ronnie and Martha Hall of Greenville, Tenn.; and one granddaughter, Rhonda Kaye Eller of Broadway, N.C.

Also surviving are six great grandchildren, Thomas Richardson, Corey Hall, Brandon Eller, Jessica Richardson, Hannah Eller and Allison Hall; four half brothers, Rev. Junior Carty of Danville, Hoover Carty and Clarence Ray Carty of North Wilkesboro, N.C., Bill Carty of Bristol; two half sisters, Virginia Black of Mt. Airy, N.C.; and Grace Wooden of Bostwick, Fla.

The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to the wonderful staff at Richfield Care and Recovery, to the nurses at “The Oaks” the assisted living unit of Richfield for all the care, friendship and love given during the last few years.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the First Church of God on Cannan Road in Christiansburg. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the Church with the Rev. Max Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
