Richardson, Nina M.

Nina M. Richardson, 73, of Radford, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Radford Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Narrows on October 30, 1936, to the late Catherine and Bernard “Nappy” Richardson. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Richardson; and a brother, Ronald Richardson. A graduate of Narrows High School, Nina graduated from the Lewis-Gale School of Nursing as a registered nurse, and was retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salem. She is survived by a sister, Betty Guthrow and husband, William, of Richmond; two brothers, William Richardson and wife, Brenda, of Lynchburg, and Robert Richardson, of Radford; a sister-in-law, Debbie Richardson, of Waynesboro; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and many special friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Radford Health and Rehabilitation Center, the staff at Carilion Hospice New River Valley; a special friend, Blanche Collier; and caregivers Leona, Meredith, Pam, Tammy and Virginia. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows with the Rev. Dennis W. Martin officiating.
