Richardson, Kenneth W.

Kenneth W. “Kenny” Richardson, age 69, of Christiansburg died suddenly Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Midway, WVA. on October 15, 1946 to the late Elbert Lee Sr. and Mary Richardson.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Eric Richardson, daughter, Kristie Richardson, brother, Elbert Lee Richardson Jr., brother-in-law, Steve Hodge.

Kenny was born and raised in West Virginia and was very proud of his WVA heritage. He resided in Christiansburg for 40 years and served in the United States Army. Mr. Richardson was an avid fisherman and loved college sports, camping, gardening, yard work and cars. He was employed by Hardies, Inc., Lake Terrace Motel and Va. Tech.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Connie Hodge Richardson, of Christiansburg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley Linkous, Blacksburg; Gerry Vandivort and husband, Harold, Blacksburg; Alma Stenburg and husband, Don, Oklee, MN.; brother and sister-in-law, Don Richardson and wife, Linda, Shallotte, N.C.; mother-in-law, Louise McCoy, Christiansburg; nieces and nephews. Special dog, Abby. He will be missed by many special friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sebert Rorrer officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8:00 pm Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
