reynolds_herbert_buckHerbert Shannon (Buck) Reynolds, 78, of Clendennin Road, Narrows, Va., departed this life on Tuesday morning, February 1, 2011, in his home and in the loving care of his family. Born in Giles County on April 14, 1932, he was a son of the late Dewey Shannon and Agnes Chewning Reynolds. Buck had been employed at RAAP; was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church on Guinea Mountain; was a faithful member of the honor guard grave detail for the VFW and American Legion; was a veteran of the United States Army; and had been active in the ministry of New Village Pentecostal Holiness Church in Staffordsville. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mamie Holt Reynolds; his daughter, Doris Marie Reynolds; and his brothers, Arnold (Bunny) Reynolds and Floyd (Bubbie) Reynolds. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Betty Evans Wilson Reynolds; his son and daughter-in-law, Anthony Shannon (Tony) and Denise Reynolds, of Pembroke; his daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Reynolds and James White, of Salem, Jane and Charles Dalton, of Staffordsville, Betty Sue and Lionel Wilson, of Peterstown, W.Va., Anita Reynolds and Dennis Riggs, of Pearisburg, and Darlene and Greg Meredith, of Narrows; his stepsons and their wives, Marvin and Donna Wilson, Wilber and Emily Wilson, David and Vickie Wilson, Brian and Vickie Wilson, Wendell and Teresa Wilson, Tex and Sharon Wilson, and Steve and Diane Wilson; his stepdaughter, Brenda Wilson; a foster son and his wife, Stanley and Gail Chrupcala; his sisters, Lillian Perkins, Loraine Walters, Beulah Mae Walters, and Marie Holt, all of Pearisburg; and numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted 1 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2011, in the Mountain View United Methodist Church on Guinea Mountain with Pastor Albert Carroll and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Bane with Graveside Military Services by American Legion Posts #311 in Pembroke, #68 in Narrows, #145 in Peterstown and VFW Post #6000 in Narrows. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, February 3, 2011, from 6 until 9 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke.
