Remsen, Gertrude V.

Gertrude V. (Trudy) Remsen, 82, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, October 9, 2010, at her home. She was born in New York, N.Y. on May 4, 1928 to the late Michael and Catherine Donohue Mattes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Remsen. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Remsen, of Pulaski; sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Barbara Remsen, of Jacksonville, Fla., George and Kathryn Remsen, of Blacksburg, Va., Robert Remsen and partner, Alan Sedelbauer, of Canton, N.C.; grandchildren, Thomas Remsen and wife, Ramona, Frank Remsen and wife, Teri, Jennifer Higgs, Christine Gruell and husband, Derek, Matthew Remsen, Kimberly Remsen, Tyler Remsen; great-grandchildren, William, Austin, Haelynn; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 6 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
