Reed, Vera Modene

Vera Modene Reed, 93, of Powhatan Nursing home passed away July 30, 2015. She was born in Floyd County, Virginia on November 4, 1921. Modene graduated from Floyd High School as Valedictorian, and received a two-year degree from National Business College in Roanoke, VA.

Modene had a career as an Executive Secretary for four presidential terms in the White House, for NSC, and for a local lawyer. She was a member of NARFE, and had a passion for helping others.

She is survived by her son, Gary E Moss, and his wife Barbara.

A viewing for family and friends will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 7, 2015 at 11 am at Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren with Pastor Marvin Wade officiating with interment to follow at Beaver Creek Cemetery. Maberry Funeral Home assisting with arrangements.
