Reed, Vada Alma Akers

Vada Alma Akers Reed, 98 of Alum Ridge, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 5, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank James Reed; parents, Lillie and Roy Sidney Akers; two brothers; and son Kenneth Wayne Reed; granddaughter, Amber Marie Akers.

She is survived by her sons, Troy Reed, Galen Reed; daughters, Florene Lester (E.J.), Arlene Dowdy (Robert); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren with Pastor Roy Turpin and Pastor David Wright officiating with interment in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2018 at Maberry Funeral Home and family will also receive friends Saturday from Noon to 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the funeral service.
