Reed, Herman Junior

Herman Junior Reed, 84 of Riner, Virginia passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022. He was born October 25, 1937 in Montgomery County the son of the late Herman and Quincy Reed.

He served in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1959. He worked at Corning and Volvo and was a life long farmer.

He was preceded in death on April 18, 2005 by his wife, Arlene Linkous Reed; and sister, Mary Ethel Reed. Survivors include three sons, Charles (Kathy), Rickey (Kim), Ronald (Tina), a daughter, Cindy Reed, all of Riner, Virginia; a brother, James (Buelah) of Christiansburg, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Ray (Andrew), Daniel Reed (Meg), Scott Reed (Amber), Andrew Reed (Elizabeth), Chelsea Sale (Zack), Reba Wheeler, and Noah Reed; 15 great-grandchildren, four special nephews; brother-in-law, Wayne (Joyce) Linkous of Christiansburg, Virginia, a sister-in-law, Bonnie (Johnny) Puckett of Christiansburg, Virginia; and special friends, Darlene (Allen) Phillips.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bible Holiness Church in Christiansburg, the Alzheimer’s Association; or the Dementia Society.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 2 pm at the Bible Holiness Church with DeWayne Martin officiating. Graveside will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg, Virginia. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 12-2 pm at the Bible Holiness Church.
