Reed, Effie Mae

Effie Mae Reed, 87, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. She was born on April 14, 1923, to the late Posie Flinchum and Annie Goins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Martin Reed. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Blackwell; brother, Harvey Flinchum; stepdaughter, Joyce and Archie Light; nieces, Sharon Flinchum and Lori Helvey; nephews, Gary Blackwell, Doyle Flinchum, and David Flinchum; grandchildren, Jackie Akers and Ellen; greatgrandchildren, Tracy Whitlock and Jason; two great-greatgrandchildren; and special pet companion, “Precious.” The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 17, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010, at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating. Interment will be held at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, Va.
