Reed, Edra Lucille Hare

Edra Lucille Hare Reed, 89, of Rich Creek, went home to be with God Saturday, February 26, 2011, at Riverview Nursing Home, Rich Creek, Va. Born January 12, 1922 at Princeton, W.Va. she was the daughter of the late Robert Edward and Bertie Davis Hare of Glen Lyn, Va. Edra was a homemaker, the last member of her immediate family and last survivor from her graduating class of Glen Lyn High School. In addition to her parents, loved ones who preceded her in death were her husband of 58 years, Hugh Everette Reed, one son, Michael Davis Reed, granddaughter, Lori Reed and one sister, Mrs. Gordon (Thelma) Jackson. Left to cherish her memory are a son, Tony Reed and wife, Neoma, of Princeton, W.Va.; daughter, Nedra Reed Atwood and husband, Robert Clayton, of Rich Creek, Va.; daughter, Susan Elaine Reed, of Rich Creek, Va.; and son, Stewart Ryan Reed and wife, Shelley, of Salisbury, N.C.; six grandsons, Tracy, Rodney and wife, Mary, Darren, Brent, Shane, Ryan; four granddaughters, Deidra, Robin, Kristen and Kendal; 11 great-grandchildren, Dustin, Kira, Noah, Jake, Megan, Ethan, Damian, Austin, Iris, Lola and Jemma; one niece and nephew, Nila Ruth Jackson Spencer and husband, Howard and Richard Jackson, all of Glen Lyn, Va.; one great-niece and nephew, Tina Spencer Edgar and husband, Rob, of Hurricane, W.Va. and their children, Hannah and Seth (Pork Chop), James Spencer and wife, Becky, and their children, Casey, Howie and Ellie. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at the Peterstown Cemetery with Minister Donald Henegar and Elder Danny Meadows officiating.
