Reed, Cathy Falls

Cathy Falls Reed, 68 of Pembroke, met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at her home. Mrs. Reed was born on January 25, 1952 in Giles County to Joseph and Lola Meredith Falls. Cathy is preceded in death by her father and her brother, Jody Falls.

Cathy loved her family and was so proud of her seven grandchildren and her home in Pembroke. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed playing golf. She and her National Cancer Society golf team won the state golf tournament and went on to compete in the Nationals at PGA National in Florida. Cathy enjoyed all sports, having been an outstanding basketball player at Giles High School. She lived for Giles Spartan football on Friday nights and cheered for the Hokies on many a Saturday afternoon. She loved music and wrote several songs. A personal favorite ” Grandpa’s Prayer”, was recorded by The Gold Rush, a local bluegrass band.

Cathy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Walter Reed of Pembroke, her son, Mitch Reed and wife, Jodi Of Pembroke, her grandchildren, Cam Reed, Abby Reed, Anna Kate Reed, Madalyn Reed, Caroline Reed, Jackson Reed and Josiah Reed all of Pembroke. Also left to cherish her memory will be her mother, Lola Meredith Falls, Brother Boyce Falls and wife Sonya. Sister-In-Laws, Barbara Falls, Lil Evans and husband Bob, Bev Kanode, Mary French and husband, Mike, Marcy Miller and husband, Richard.

Cathy was beloved by all and will be missed by each one.

There will be a Funeral Service held on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eddie Kendall Officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 21, 2020 from 5 – 7 P.M. at Kendall Funeral Home. The burial will follow in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
