Reed, Beverly Sparks

Beverly Sparks Reed, 66, of Radford, passed away Friday, November 30, 2012. She was a member of Carter Street United Methodist Church, where she was the church secretary. She was preceded in death by her parents,, William Bennett and Helen Clark Sparks. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Billy Wayne Reed; daughters, Helen Inez Reed and Melisa Jo Reed; sister and brother-in-law, Norma Sparks and Coy Bennett, of Hardy; mother-in-law, Louise Reed, of Parrott; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Reed Sr. and his wife, Bootsie, of Radford, and Jerry Reed, of Parrott; sisters-in-law, Peggy Barber and her husband, Eddie, of Richlands, and Susie Busby and her husband, Calvin, of Asheville, N.C.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the Carter Street United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Betsy King, the Rev. Terri Gregory and the Rev. Lynn Mullins officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 5 p.m. at the church. Graveside services will be held Monday, December 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Carter St. UMC or to Carter St. YUMS, PO Box 3296, Radford, VA 24141. The Reed family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
