Reed, Bertha Price

Bertha Jean “Julie” Price Reed, age 84, passed away on August 30, 2020. She was born in Montgomery County, VA on September 19, 1935 to the late Clarence and Bertha Mae (Cox) Price.

Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Ruth Elliott, Ruby Herzig; brother, Garland Price; son, James Michael Price; late husband and father of her children, Harold James Sheppard.

Survivors include her daughter and caretaker for the past 8 years, Rose Mary Sheppard; sons, Robert Wayne (Sharon), Larry Dean (Ruby), and Tommy Lee Sheppard (Debbi) all of Blacksburg; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; 2 special nephews, David and Glenn Herzig; dear friend of 60+ years, Joyce Pascoe; her very special service dog, Koda.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
