Reed, Audrey Nataline Elliott

Audrey Elliott Reed, 76, of Blacksburg, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 24, 2010. She was born on November 19, 1933. She was a daughter of the late Thomas Curtis and Ella Elizabeth Elliott and was preceded in death by brothers, Hadley and Curtis Elliott; and sisters, Doris Elliott Barnett, Helen Virginia Elliott and Bonnie Sue Elliott. She retired from Virginia Tech in 1995 and she is a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Christiansburg, Va. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, David Clark Reed. They were married on August 19, 1954; sons and daughtersin-law, David Ray and Sandy Reed, of Pembroke, Va., Pastor Douglas Charles and Kathi Reed, of Blacksburg, George Lafayette Reed, of Blacksburg, Va., and Clinton Paul and Rosa Reed, of Christiansburg, Va.; daughter, Ella Elizabeth (Betsy) and Bill Ward, of Salem, Va.; 13 grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren with one on the way; special niece, Donna Barnett and Wayne Bishop, of Christiansburg; nephew, Mike and Linda Barnett of Christiansburg; brother, Jack Elliott, of Christiansburg; sisters, Florence E. Reed, of Christiansburg, and Mary E. Gardner, of Spotsylvania, Va.; and several nephews and nieces. The family would especially like to thank caregivers, Doris Ratcliffe, Crystal Long, Amber Stevers and all the hospice nurses. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jube Burk officiating. Interment will follow in the Snider Family Cemetery in Prices Fork. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening, March 26, 2010, at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg, Va.
