Ratcliffe, Virginia Stoots

Virginia Almeda Stoots Ratcliffe, 92, of Fairlawn, Va., passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015. Almeda was born in Parrott, Va., on April 15, 1922, to Carl and Emma Smart Stoots and was preceded in death by her late husband, Andrew S. Ratcliffe Sr.; two sisters, Rachel McCoy and Madeline Smoot; an uncle and aunt, James E. and Flossie Smart; and one brother, William “Bill” Stoots.

She worked for 30 years at Burlington Mills & was a member of Fairlawn Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, Andrew S. Ratcliffe Jr.; one granddaughter, Audrey Ratcliffe; two grandsons, Andrew S. Ratcliffe III and Alan Parkinson Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at DeVilbiss Funeral Home from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2015, with funeral services to follow directly after with Pastor Jonathan Tagg officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in Dublin, Va.
