Ratcliffe Sr., Roger Eugene

Roger Eugene Ratcliffe Sr. moved on to a better place following a long illness that ended on November 19, 2011 at Pulaski Community Hospital. A dedicated hunter, farmer, camper, and fisherman, he was a jack of all trades and yet he mastered one, one as having the biggest heart and willingness to help anyone regardless of cost. He is enormously missed by all who knew him but our loss is another’s gain. Preceding him in death and rejoicing are parents, Horase and Marie Ratcliffe; one son, Roger Ratcliffe Jr.; one granddaughter, Rebecca Lindsey; one brother Frank Ratcliffe; and one sister Cathy Hall. Survivors include wife and mother to his kids whom he had 43 years with, Margaret Ratcliffe; one son Timothy Ratcliffe and wife Judith; one daughter Kimberlynn Sloan and companion Gerald Lindsey; five grandchildren, the light in his eyes, Roger Sloan, Ashley Ratcliffe, Amanda Justice, Alicia Watson, Paul Justice; three great-grandchildren, Layla, Lacie, and Madison; brothers, Anthony Ratcliffe, Rod Ratcliffe, and Mike and wife Mona Ratcliffe. All others that knew him, he loved them all though there are too many to name. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Moore Cemetery in Delton, Va.
