Ratcliffe, Oakley P.

Oakley P. Ratcliffe, of Pearisburg, departed this life on Friday, April 25, 2013. He was born July 19, 1936 in Pearisburg, Va. He was the son of the late Wirt J. and Zenobia Davis Ratcliffe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice F. Ratcliffe, a son, Brian Keith Ratcliffe and several brothers and sisters.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, a son, Greg and wife, Kathy, of Bear Springs; Timmy and wife, Reba, of Pearisburg; and a daughter, Marilyn and husband, Lloyd Echols, of Newport, Va.; grandchildren, Jason Echols, of Jacksonville, N.C.; Miranda Ratcliffe, of Pearisburg; Jacob Echols, of Newport, Va., and Michael Perdue, of Pearisburg, Brittany Gilmer, of Narrows; and eight great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Bonnie Ratcliffe and Frances Farley, both of Pearisburg; Roger Ratcliffe, of Salem, and Roy Ratcliffe ,of Princeton, W.Va.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, with Pastor Bill Brown and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service and other times at the home of Timothy Ratcliffe, 509 Horsley Drive, Pearisburg.
