ratcliffe lacy randolphLacy Randolph Ratcliffe, 79, of Pearisburg, went to be with The Lord on Sunday night, December 1, 2013, at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Mr. Ratcliffe was born on August 4, 1934, in Bluff City, (Pearisburg) and was a son of the late Lacy Len Ratcliffe and Mona Hazel Davis Ratcliffe. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jack, Vivian, Harvey and Jerry Ratcliffe; and six sisters, Dorothy Slusher, Polly Clyburn, Fannie Meredith, Martha Lynn Dunn, Lena Fay Ratcliffe and Patty Ratcliffe. Mr. Ratcliffe was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict; a former employee of the New River Tannery in Bluff City with 17 years of service; a retired employee of Norfolk Southern Railroad with 27 years of service; a member of Giles Lodge # 106 A.F. & A.M.; a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg; the Willing Workers Sunday School Class; and the Prime Timers. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Martha Brown Ratcliffe, of Pearisburg; one son, Richard Len Ratcliffe and wife, Cindy, of Narrows; four daughters, Kimberly Lavon Kantsios and husband, Billy, of Rich Creek, Felicia Kingrea and husband, Todd, of Unicoi, Tenn., Shelly Williams and husband, Jerry, of Ripplemead, and Pam Watson, of Ripplemead; two brothers, Johnnie Ratcliffe and wife, Linda, of Pearisburg, and Stevie Ratcliffe; two sisters, Mary Jane Bartley, and Betty Eads and husband, Tom, both of Pearisburg; nine loving grandchildren, Ricky, Logan, Chase, Brett, Matthew, Jeremy, Kyle, Taylor, and Justin; three loving great- grandchildren, Richard, Ryan and Reid; and a special cousin, Bentley Ratcliffe, of Pearisburg. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg with the Rev. Dr. Brian Birch and the Rev. Dr. Fred L. Austin officiating. Burial will follow in the Ratcliffe Family Cemetery in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church on Wednesday evening, December 4, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. Masonic Services will be conducted at the gravesite and Military Honors will be given by American Legion Post #68 in Narrows American Legion Post #311 in Pembroke and VFW Post #6000 in Narrows.
