Ratcliffe, Donald Cecil

Donald Cecil Ratcliffe, age 63, of Pulaski, died Friday, October 16, 2015 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. He was born on June 26, 1952 in Wythe County, and was the son of Frances Trail Ratcliffe, and the late Arthur Steven Ratcliffe.

Don was avid member of Jordan’s Chapel United Methodist Church where he was loved by everyone. He was proud of his Christian faith and his participation with the Walk to Emmaus, and was a longtime member of the Max Meadows Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife; Mary Susie Ratcliffe of Pulaski; his mother, Frances Trail Ratcliffe of Max Meadows; a son, Ernest Coy Ratacliffe of East Bend, NC; three daughters, Anita R. Craig and her husband Scott of Pulaski, Marsha R. Merritt and her husband Scott of Pulaski, and Christy P. Mabry and her husband Doug of Pulaski; a brother, Henry Alfred Ratcliffe and his wife Erna of Draper; two sisters, Wanda Sue Collins and her husband Jim of Max Meadows, and Hazel Fitzgerald of Pulaski. He is also survived by his very special grandchildren; Zane, Corie, Delayne, and Chase, along with many other family members, friends and church friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Jordan’s Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Becky Wheeler and the Rev. Scott Robertson-Gouge officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening at Jordan’s Chapel United Methodist Church from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
