Ratcliffe, Carl Edward

Heaven’s gates opened and Carl “Poppy” Ratcliffe entered there on Monday, February 6, 2012. He will at last not have the pain and suffering he endured here on earth. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kaufman, TX.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Virgie Yearout Ratcliffe; his son, Barry (Lauri) Ratcliffe of Kaufman, TX; stepchildren, Darryl Vest of Christiansburg, Betty (Howard) Cockram of Pilot, and LauRita (Ronnie) Wilson of Copper Hill; grandchildren, Kayla and Taylor Ratcliffe; step grandchildren, Scott (Shannon) Patrick, Misty Vest and Nicole and Josh Campbell; step great-grandchildren, Grace, Evan and Mollie Patrick; sister, Idell (Bobby) Duncan of Radford; brother, Clarence (Doris) Ratcliffe of Dublin; first wife and mother of his son, Jody Jones of Christiansburg; many beloved nieces and nephews; and special friends, Cecil (Delores) Nelson, Steve (Delores) Allen, J. H. (Jean) Kirk, David (Tami) Kirk, and others in Texas.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Pastor Jerry Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
