Ratcliff, Mamie Sue

Mamie Sue (SUSIE) Ratcliff, 79, of Blacksburg, Va., died Friday, August 7, 2009, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born in Blacksburg, Va. on February 22, 1930, to the late Merfie Lee and Clara Bell Hunter Ratcliff. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Douglas Ratcliff.

She is survived by her special niece, Dianne Flinchum, of Blacksburg; special nephew, Ronnie Ratcliff and wife, Rosemary, of Christiansburg; nieces and nephew, Wanda Ratcliff, Debbie Taylor, Polly Albert, Randy Ratcliff; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the Ball and Lawrence families for their love and support through the years, and all of the “friends” for their fellowship and care.

The family wishes to also thank Dr. Payne and the staff on the 4th floor at Montgomery Regional Hospital for their exceptional care, as well as the staff at Heritage Hall.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 10, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Bobby Sylvia officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. Friends may call any time after noon Sunday, and the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
