Henderson George Randolph, 82, of Pulaski, departed this life on Sunday, October 16, 2005 at the New River Valley Center. He was born on August 17, 1923, the son of the late Leonard and Virgie Carter Randolph.

He was a veteran having served in World War II in the US Navy and participated in the D-Day Allied Invasion at Normandy in 1944. He was also a retired employee of the United States Postal Service.

Mr. Randolph was also an accomplished photographer. In his collection includes celebrities such as Sammy Davis, Jr. Duke Ellington, Lena Horne and many others. He was also an avid fisherman until his health began to fail. He was a member of the Lutheran Church in New York City and upon his return to Pulaski, he attended the Lutheran Church and the Randolph Avenue United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Dominique Randolph of Jersey City, N.J.; and one son, Pierre (Brenda) Randolph of Chestnut Ridge, New York; two brothers, Robert Randolph of Pulaski, Va. and Raleigh Randolph of Dublin, Va.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 21, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Randolph Avenue United Methodist Church with Reverend Leroy Henry officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. til time of service at the church. Following the service, Mr. Randolph will be cremated.
