Ramos, Helen Smith

Helen Smith Ramos, 67, of Scenic Drive in Narrows, Va., departed this life for her heavenly home on Friday evening, September 18, 2009, at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Giles County on March 26, 1942, she was a daughter of Inez Blankenship Smith and the late Carl Hewitt Smith. Helen was a devoted Christian of the Apostolic Faith.

She was preceded in death by her father; her beloved husband, Tyrus Raymond Ramos; a sister, Sally Smith; and an infant brother, David Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Vickie R. Robbins and husband, Ronnie, of Rich Creek, Regina Smith, of Narrows, Bambi Cales and Timothy, of Summers Co., W.Va.; her mother, Inez Blankenship Smith, of Narrows; her sister, Faye Hamilton and husband, Bill, of Narrows; her grandchildren, Crystal Dobbins, Rex Allen Smith Jr., Chantelle Elace Smith, Latasha Halean Smith, Amanda Desiree Brown; and her seven greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 22, 2009, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 205 Snidow St. in Pembroke at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tommy Ramsey, Pastor Shirley Fox and Pastor K.W. Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Angels Rest Memory Gardens in Narrows. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the funeral expenses.
