Raines, Sr., Carl Michael

Carl Michael Raines Sr. of Shawsville, Virginia went to his Heavenly home, on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. Waiting in Heaven with open arms are his parents, Charlie and Nellie Raines, his infant son Derick Lee Raines, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews.

Carl is survived by daughter Brandi Nicole Raines and son Carl Michael Raines Jr. Carl is also survived by three grandsons that he adored, Blaze Brogan, Anakin Canupp, and Shane Michael Baker, sister Barbara Shepherd (Mike), brothers James Raines (Sandy) and Curley Raines and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins are also survived.

Carl was blessed to leave this world the richest of all men. He was never one to be plagued by the desire for earthly things. The love of God and the love of family and friends were his treasures. Carl never spoke ill of or had an angry word for anyone. The gentlest of souls he left this world a better place for those that knew him. We lost a wonderful man with the kindest of hearts and a love for everyone he met. There are not enough words to describe how much he will be missed.

A memorial service will be Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Abundant Praise Church, 212 Denby Street, Radford, Virginia with Reverend Jerry Shepherd officiating.
