Velma Blackwell Radford, 93, of Floyd, passed away Wednesday October 25, 2006. Velma was a member of Red Oak Grove Church of the Brethren and Pizarro Home Demonstration Club.

Preceded in death by son, Shirley Radford. Survived by husband of 70 years, Richard Garfield Radford, Floyd; daughter and son-in-law, Annie Ruth and Melvin Wood, Floyd; daughter-in-law, Lois and husband, Wayne Reynolds, Troutville; grandchildren, Garland and Debbie Wood, Salem, David Wood and Joli, Salem, Glen and Michelle Radford, Milwaukee, Wis., Sharon and Allen Clark, Roanoke; great-granddaughter, Stacy and Nathan Wilgus, Burlington, N.C.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2006 at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Cannaday and Pastor Hebron Quesenberry officiating. Interment to follow in Jacksonville Cemetery. Family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2006 at Maberry Funeral Home.
