Rader, Dolan

Dolan Rader, 86, of Blue Grass Trail, Newport, departed this life Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Heritage Hall Health and Rehab Center in Blacksburg. Born in Pembroke on March 20, 1926, he was a son of the late Bruce and Mary Magdalene Wood Rader. Dolan was a member of the Newport-Mt Olivet United Methodist Church in Newport and was retired from Poly-Scientific (now Moog) in Blacksburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Eloise Little Rader; his sons, Stephen and Keith Rader; three sisters and a brother. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons and daughters-in-law, Joel and Ann W. Rader, of Newport and Brian and Melanie Rader, of Blacksburg; his daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Winfred Snidow, of Pembroke and Sharon and Glenn Shrader, of Narrows; his 13 grandchildren; his 11 great-grandchildren; his brother, Darrell Rader, of Rockwell, Md.; and his sister, Delorous Porterfield, of Newport. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Newport-Mt Olivet United Methodist Church in Newport, with the Rev. Morris Fleischer officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. before the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions may be made to the Newport-Mt Olivet United Methodist Church, or the charity of choice .
