Virginia Allene Phillips Quesenberry, 80, of Indian Valley, Va., passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2009. Mrs. Quesenberry was the wife of 56 years to the late Elder Cecil E. Quesenberry, who served as pastor to two Primitive Baptist Churches in the New River District. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil E. Quesenberry were members of the Primitive Baptist Church for all of their married life. They had four children, Betty Quesenberry and Luther R. Henley, of Dublin, Va., Earl Havens Quesenberry (deceased), Roy Stevens and Lois Quesenberry, of Blacksburg, Va., and Carolyn Quesenberry and Rick Webb, of Willis, Va.; four grandchildren, Ritchie L. Henley, of Oldsmar, Fla., Lisa R. Henley Comerose, of Richmond, Va., Steven B. Quesenberry, of Richmond, Va., and David Cope, of Indian Valley; one great-grandchild, Joshua Owen Henley, of Oldsmar, Fla.; brothers and sisters, Glada Phillips Cox, Ertie Phillips, Lertie Phillips, Wertie Phillips, Berlie Phillips, all deceased except Robie Phillips, of Christiansburg, Va.; one brother-in-law, Elmer Quesenberry and wife, Evelyn D., of Indian Valley; sister-inlaw, Virgie Quesenberry Lundy and husband, William; all other siblings of the late Cecil Quesenberry are deceased. Mrs. Quesenberry has one former son-in-law, Howard Cope, of Indian Valley, who lovingly refers to her as “Ma.” Mrs. Quesenberry was a loving wife and mother who will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009, at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Ruben Hawks and Elder Melvin McGrady officiating. Interment to follow at the Quesenberry Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2009, at the funeral home.
