Sanford Lee Quesenberry, 84, of Allisonia, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Richfield Recovery & Care Center, Salem. Born January 5, 1929 in Allisonia, Va., he was the son of the late Buster Quesenberry and Lockie Ella Marshall Quesenberry. His wife, Dorothy Irene Stilwell Quesenberry; and sisters, Pauline Q. Sutphin and Mary Sue Q. Goad also preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Farris Mines Christian Church where he served as a deacon and elder. Mr. Quesenberry was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War.

He is survived by his children, Roda R. Quesenberry and Arthur Pickerel, Pulaski, Denna Quesenberry and husband, Andy Snead, Salem; grandchildren, Lauren and Chelsea Snead; sister, Betty Lou Q. Slone, Dugspur; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mawyer Hugh and Edith Quesenberry, Allisonia, James Edward and Martha Ann Quesenberry, Hillsville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Madeline S. Marshall, Allisonia; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., August 7, 2013 , at the Farris Mines Christian Church, Allisonia, with the Rev. Dennis Trail officiating. Interment will follow in the Farris Mines Church Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Pulaski V.F.W. Post # 1184. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, August 6, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.
