Lonnie J. Quesenberry, age 66, of Hiwassee departed this life surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 following a courageous battle with leukemia.

The world has lost a great man, husband, father, and paw paw. He will always be missed. Dad especially enjoyed working in his garden and cat fishing. He was extremely grateful to all of his medical personnel that cared for him for many years and during his hospitalization.

He was preceded in death by his parents Kermit and Rosie Duncan Quesenberry, brothers; Clayton, Tommy, Artie, Bobby, Earl, Philip and Roger Quesenberry, & sister; Barbara Chrisley Scott.

Surviving- His loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Barbara Quesenberry-Hiwassee.

Sons- Jeff, John and wife, Michelle, Jim, and Joey and wife, Denise

Brothers- Richard & wife, Brenda;& Jack & wife, Kathy

Sisters- Alice Arnold & husband, Rick, Dixie Crockett and Nora Quesenberry.

Six Grandchildren- LJ, Cassie, Cameron, Joshua, Jordan and Rachel.

Great Grandchildren-Thomas and Adrienne. (All which he held close to his heart and brought a smile to his face even in the most difficult times)

A memorial dinner will be held to celebrate his life on Saturday, March 2, 2012 at the Max Creek Baptist Fellowship Hall from 2:00-4:00 PM located at 3000 Old Route 100 Road, Draper, VA 24324.
