Pugh, Mary Thompson

Mary Thompson Pugh passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012. She was born December 11, 1924, in Floyd County to John and Lura Thompson. Along with her parents, she was preceded by her brothers, Hack, Gold, and Curtis; and sisters, Myrtle, Eb, Edith, and her beloved Opal. Also preceding her was her grandson, Jacob.

Those who will cherish her memory are her sister, Cindy; son, Jesse and wife, Amanda; daughter, Janet; and very “special daughter” Jenny; grandsons, Stillman, Curtis and wife, Pam; granddaughter Tamara and husband, Walt; great-granddaughters , Jeannie and Alysha; great-grandson, Nick; great-great-grandson, Ethan; great-great-granddaughters , Leah and Chole. Also many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews, and counties full of cousins also survive. “Petie” will especially be missed by her beloved Wirt families. The family also sends special love and thanks to Ota King, who was Mary’s devoted caregiver.

Mary requested that there be no services and we will honor her wishes. In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions, the family requests you gather your family and share some memories of her. Or plant some lilac, her favorite, and think of her when it blooms. God bless you all.
