Pugh, Jerry Duane

amem-lighthouse1Jerry Duane Pugh, 67, of Pulaski, Va., who was born March 9, 1947, was called to his heavenly home Tuesday, March 3, 2015, following a brief illness.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Pugh, and father, Lawrence Pugh.

His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle, and ultimately gave him peace.

He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 49 years, Freda Pugh; daughter Sandi Noel and husband John; son Charles Pugh and wife Amanda; five grandchildren, Josh Noel, Matt Noel, Sydney Pugh, Hayley Pugh and Jackson Pugh; and sister Wanda Rorrer and husband James and their children, Becky Rupe, Jimmy Rorrer and Randy Rorrer.

His devotion to his friends and family was No. 1 on his list. We are all better people to have had known him and had him in our life. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. We love you, Pops, and we’ll see you soon.

Three words to describe his life would be love, hope and joy.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. James Patterson, Rev. Gary Jonas and Rev. J.R. Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Moore Cemetery, Delton, Va. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. Saturday until the service hour at the funeral home.
