God has called Betsy Ann Wills Proudfoot, 69, of Sandyville, W.Va., to her heavenly home on April 29, 2009. Betsy died suddenly after she fell at her home and suffered a cerebial hematoma.

A 1958 graduate of Narrows High School and a 1961 graduate of National Business College, she began her working career with the Department of Labor in Washington, D.C.

Betsy was preceded in death by her parents, Dalton I. Wills and Wanda T. Wills, of Rich Creek, VA. Surviving are her husband Ronald L. Proudfoot; daughters and their husbands, Rhonda and Bill Bennett, of Burkhannon, W.Va., Rebecca and Mark McCoy, of Murrayville, W.Va., and Lela Proudfoot, of Charleston, W.Va. Betsy is also survived by her six beautiful granddaughters who were her passion in life, Leigh Ann, Lauren Elizabeth and Christina Marie Bennett, Julia Louise, Bryce Eden and Marisa Darby McCoy. Also left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Hayes and husband, Joe, of Roanoke, Va., and Jeanette Johnson and her husband, Benny, of Narrows, Va.

Betsy shared her love of the piano by serving as the pianist for her church in Sandyville.

In keeping with Betsy’s wishes the body has been cremated.

A celebration of Betsy’s life will be held 1 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2009, at the Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, W.Va. Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service.

Betsy will never be forgotten by all who loved her. She was loving, giving and kind to everyone she met. She enriched our lives with her sense of humor, her kind loving heart, and her warm personality. Sadness will always be with us.
