Priggen, Patsy McDonald
Patsy McDonald Priggen, 77, of Collinsville, Va., passed away peacefully on Saturday May 28, 2016, at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born on February 15, 1939, in Blacksburg, Va. to the late Margaret Lucas McDonald and Howard Alexander McDonald.
Patsy was the most extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend anyone could have known. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy of love and dedication to her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her talented decorating, especially her beautifully decorated Christmas trees, her love for refinishing antiques, and cooking wonderful meals for her loved ones. She was a woman of amazing strength, courage and faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Howard McDonald; and her siblings, Buddy McDonald and June Adams. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, George Kirkland Priggen; her children, Chris Priggen and his wife Brenda of Ridgeway, Va., and daughter, Shannon Akers and her husband Robert of Charleston, W.Va.; her grandchildren, Hunter and Dylan Priggen of Ridgeway, Kirk, Lawson, and Reid Akers of Charleston, W.Va., and Jayme Scarce of Danville. She is also survived by her brother, Lawrence “Bunny” McDonald and sister-in-law Mary Ruth McDonald of Blacksburg; her twin sister, Peggy Price of Blacksburg; and her brother, Randall McDonald of Alexandria.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg, Va. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 30, 2016, at McCoy Funeral Home.
