Price, Kathleen Shaver

Kathleen Shaver Price, age 87, of Blacksburg died Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Kroontje Health Care Center. She was born in Montgomery County on March 8, 1925 to the late Alonzo and Minnie Dowdy Shaver. She is also preceded in death by her husband, George Alex Price, Jr.; daughter, Bonnie P. Watson and brother, Allen Shaver. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ernest and Linda Price of Blacksburg; grandchildren, Tamela P. Gallimore and husband, Maynard, Anthony Watson and wife Geneva, Tina Rupe and husband, Greg; great grandchildren, Luke Anthony Watson, Jordan Danielle Watson and Peyton Alexis Rupe. A special thank you to the staff at Kroontje Health Care Center and Good Samaritan Hospice. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 21, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the First Wesleyan Church, Giles Road, Blacksburg, with the Rev. John Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., 1501 NW 9th Avenue/Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494 or the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Sunday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
