Joseph Vanburen Price “JOEY”, 58, of Pembroke went to be with Lord on March 26, 2016, in the presence of his loving family at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke. Born May 18, 1957, in Giles County he was a son of Dorothy Hutchison Price and the late William C. Price, Jr. He was preceded in death by his father and sisters, Connie Price Athey and Barbara Price Johnson.

He was an avid John Deere man, loved his church (Castle Rock Baptist Church in Pembroke) his church family, and especially his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Joey was a graduate of Giles High School and Giles Technology Center, and for over 30 years worked as a machinist at Moog Components in Blacksburg. He completed his four year apprenticeship program to be a machinist in 1982.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved and dedicated wife of 38 years, Kathy Ferrell Price; his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Chad Tickle of Ripplemead; his grandchildren “the loves of his life”, Colson Paul and Caitlyn Grace Tickle; his canine companion, Bandit; his mother, Dorothy H. Price of Pembroke; his brothers and sisters, Tammy P. Hudson of Pembroke, Peggy P. Poff of Elliston, Pamela Bryant (Randy) of Roanoke, Bobby Price (Kay) of Pearisburg, Davy Price of Pembroke, H C Price (Cheryl) of Pembroke and Timmy Price and Rocky Goad of Christiansburg; his sisters-in-law, Karen Hanson (Don) of Christiansburg, the late, Sue Mustard (Jimmy) of Pearisburg, Tina Ferrell of Pearisburg, Bonnie Brown (Ronnie) of Christiansburg; his brothers-in-law, Bill (Becky) Ferrell of Willis, Joe Ferrell (Carol) of Pearisburg, Ed Brooks of Blacksburg; and numerous special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning, March 29, 2016, at 11 a.m. in Castle Rock Baptist Church in Pembroke with Pastor Gary Poff officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery in Craig County.

The family will receive friends at the church Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made in Joey’s memory to the Joseph V. Price Machine Technology Memorial Scholarship at Giles Tech Center, 1827 Wenonah Ave., Pearisburg, VA 24134.
