Price, Doris Moore
Doris Moore Price, 74, of Hoges Chapel, Va., died Friday, April 17, 2009, at her home. She was born in Radford, Va., on September 13, 1934, to the late Norman and Eugenia Dobbins Moore. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Vivian Collins, Winnie Long, and Mary “Flaxie” Moore; and a brother, Lacy “Bud” Scott.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Harless Price, of Hoges Chapel; her daughter and son-in-law, Eugenia “Gennie” and James L. Smith, of Pembroke; three sons and daughters-in-law, Perry Moore and Becky Price, of Willis, Michael Lee and Amy Price, of Cripple Creek, and James Douglas and Geri Price, of Roanoke; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Duncan, of Radford; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Bertha Moore, James “Pete” Moore, and Billy and Barbara Moore, all of Radford; a childhood friend, Ted Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2009, in the St. Michael Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Wertz and the Rev. Jim Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Lutheran Church Building Fund, 2308 Merrimac Road, Blacksburg, Va. 24060.
Friends may call on Saturday, April 18, 2009, anytime after 1 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, S.W., Blacksburg, Va.
