Price, Charlene Simpson

Charlene Simpson Price, 84, of Prices Fork, died on Sunday, September 25, 2011, at her home. She was born in Blacksburg on July 25, 1927, to the late Fredrick F. and Florence Olinger Simpson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Justin L. Price.

During her lifetime in Prices Fork she was an active member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Prices Fork Grange and local gardening club. Her family and friends will remember her as a gifted seamstress, creator of many wonderful meals, her flower gardens and was always willing to help her neighbors.

She is survived by her two daughters, Rhonda Price Lusk and husband, Larry, of Abingdon, and Rossy Price West and husband, Ray, of Richlands; sister, Mildred “Tommy” Maupin and husband, Sidney, of Roanoke; sister-in-law, Juanita Simpson; aunt, Irene Ashley, both of Blacksburg, stepson-in-law, Joel Dickerson, of Staunton; grandchildren, Holly G. Hawkins and husband, Todd, Beth Gilmer, Matt West and Drew West; great-grandson, Brady Thomas Hawkins; and stepgrandchildren, Michael and Stephen Dickerson.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2011, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Lusk officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening, September 27, 2011, at the McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
