Price, Betty Roberts

Betty Roberts Price fell asleep in death in the afternoon of October 11, 2022, surrounded by her dear family. Betty was raised and attended elementary school in Elliston, Virginia. She then completed her high school education at the historic Christiansburg Industrial Institute, where she received a foundational education that prepared her for success.

She was employed at Christiansburg Garment Factory for a short period of time and then went on to work at Montgomery Floyd Regional Library, where she held various positions. Betty was a diligent worker no matter what position she held until her retirement in 2011 after thirty-six and a half years of service.

Our dear Mother, Sister, and Friend was first and foremost faithful to our loving Heavenly Father Jehovah. She was a faithful Jehovah’s Witness for over 60 years. This wonderful foundation enabled her to become a supportive wife, devoted Mother, and caring family member and friend. As a mother, she was the best anyone could have. She was smart, sweet, thoughtful, detail oriented, practical, dependable, fair, patient, kind and loving to name just a few of her beautiful qualities. She was a solid foundation we could lean on and know it wouldn’t give way. She was always willing to talk problems out, wanting to resolve them before bedtime to preserve peace in our home. Because as she would say, “that is Jehovah’s standard, and those standards are for our own good and they always work.” She was right. As a sister, she stayed in close contact with her siblings to keep their precious bond intact. Their welfare and their family’s welfare were one of her top concerns; She was called “Aunt Betty” with tender affection by her loving nieces and nephews, but many other dear ones endearingly also claimed her as their “Aunt” or “Other Mom”. Her friends were special to her. She felt a loving concern for each one in the local congregation, the worldwide brotherhood of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and for all other special friends she made along the way.

Although we feel a deep void, we know that she is resting in Jehovah’s memory; the safest place to be. John 5:28,29 says there will be a resurrection of our dear loved ones and Revelation 21:3,4 promises that our loving Heavenly Father will “wipe out every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away”. These current sad memories will be a thing of the past and we will be able to see our dear Betty – Mother, Sister, Auntie, “Mom”, and Friend, in perfect health, living as Jehovah originally purposed her to live in a cleansed earth, refreshed, renewed and ready to be with loved ones serving Jehovah side by side. Until then, rest well sweet Betty. Jehovah’s promises are “Just Around the Corner” ❤️

Preceding her in death are her parents Eugene A. Roberts and Arlease Roberts, Her sisters Patricia J. Roberts and Sharon Roberts.

She is survived by her two adoring daughters Erika Price and Marcia Price, both of Christiansburg VA; Her three loving siblings, Larry (Carlon) Roberts of Decatur GA, Janette (James) Pope of Harvest AL, Regina (Johnny) Spinner of Lynchburg VA; and a host of dear family and very close friends.

A very special thank you goes to The Good Samaritan Hospice care team of Nurses, Social workers, and Aides. Also, to the loving family and friends that came and gave special care to Mom.
