Price, Alma Akers Dyer

Alma Christine Akers Dyer Price passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2019 surrounded by family, taken by an Angel to our Heavenly Father. Alma, raised in Radford, was born to the late Raymond & Ollie Akers. She is preceded in death by her brother, Ralph; her sister, Isabel; her son, Bernard (Dennis); and her grandson, Jeffrey.

Surviving are her sister, Tokie Tipton of Maryland; her daughters, Cheryl Dyer and Carolyn Glass; four nieces; one nephew; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She raised three children and worked over forty years in the hotel management industry. Alma had an impeccable faith in God and loved reading her Bible. She was sure to leave you laughing. Often called the “Card Queen of Hallmark”, she loved sending cards to all. Alma was full of wisdom offering great advice and giving generously. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1:15 p.m. at DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford, Va. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. Those desiring may join the family in the funeral procession at 1:30 p.m. to the interment at Sifford Cemetery in Parrott where a graveside service will be held at 2pm. DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford is in charge of arrangements.
