Preston, Margaret Dudley

Margaret Ann Dudley Preston, 71, of Shawsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Her caring husband of 52 years, Donnie; their son, Don and his partner, Frank Torres; and her dear girlfriends, Linda St. Clair and Patricia DeHart were by her side.

Margaret lived a life of hope and amazing grace. She was unwavering in her loyalty to her family, neighbors and large circle of friends. Her kindness always extended to those who needed a helping hand or someone to listen with care.

Her mother, Helen Early Dudley; mother-in-law, Leatha Walters Preston; sisters Evelyn Dudley Ratcliffe and Carolyn Dudley DeHart; sisters-in-law, Maxine Clark Dudley, Peggy Preston Lawson and Olivia Sue Preston Harr; brothers-in-law, Edgar DeHart, Norman Hall, Steve Harr and Tommy Lawson; nieces, Stephanie DeHart Carrico, Christina Dudley and Jessica Korczynski; nephews, Chip DeHart, Brian Ratcliffe, Jeff Hall, Scott Hall and Tim Hall; and wonderful great-nieces; and great-nephews, survive Margaret.

A joyful celebration of Margaret’s life will be held with family and friends. In lieu of flowers or food, Donnie, Don and Frank suggest that tax deductible donations can be made to The COPD Foundation.
