Preston, Leatha Walters

Leatha Walters Preston, 94, of Christiansburg, formerly of Shawsville, went to sleep and awoke in the arms of Jesus on Sunday, September 23, 2018. She was a member of Harbor of Hope Church.

Leatha was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Preston; parents, Charles F. and Olivia A. Walters; brothers, Albert and Charles Walters; sister, Marie Dillon; and daughter-in-law, Margaret Preston. She is survived by her son, Donnie Preston; daughters, Peggy Lawson and husband Tom and Olivia ‘Susie’ Harr and husband Steve; grandchildren, Don Preston and partner Frank, Jeff Hall, Scott Hall and wife Gretchen, Tim Hall and wife Emily, Jessica Harr, Stephanie Miles and husband Claude, Shannon Hill and husband Thomas, Eddie Lawson and wife Christine; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bertha Funk and Mae Southall; numerous nieces and nephews; and Charlie Tickle, who was like a brother to Mom.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018, at 1 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Craig Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Minnix Cemetery, Boones Mill, VA.
