Prescott, Melvene Wallace

Melvene Wallace Prescott (Scottie), age 72, of Blacksburg died Friday, September 20, 2013, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. She was born in Russell County, Virginia on November 30, 1940 to Dave Richard and Ernestine Amos Wallace.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Wesley Prescott, of Blacksburg; daughter, Virginia Scott Lee, of Midlothian, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Richard Amos Maitri and Cyndi Maitri, of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Brooke Lee and Lauren Lee.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery for the care that was shown and also a thanks to all the special friends that have helped.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 23, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobbie Henley and Rev. Sebert Rorrer officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Garden, Dublin.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Belview United Methodist Church, 3619 Onyx Drive, Radford, Va. 24141. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
