Powers, Wylie Carson
Wylie Carson Powers, 57, of Dublin, died Thursday afternoon, July 5, 2012, in the Lewis-Gale Hospital, Pulaski. He was born in Pulaski on November 19, 1954, and was the son of the late Theotis Thomas (Dody) Powers and Thelma Agnes Burke Powers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sherrie Powers. He was a former employee of Pulaski Furniture Corp., with 34 years of service, and was currently working for Ryder Trucking Company. He was a member of the Heritage Church in Dublin. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Wylie Powers II and Shelly Powers, of Broadway; daughter, Laura Powers, of Dublin; granddaughter, Madison Powers; grandsons, Kalev Powers and Cory Powers. Also surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and Doug Manuel, of Dublin, and Charlotte and Jack Jones, of Pulaski; uncle, Freddie Baker, of Pulaski; and special cousin, Ann Powers Daugherty, of Vinton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at 11 a.m., from the Heritage Church, Dublin, with the Rev. Mike Sweeney and the Rev. Don Cressell officiating. Burial will follow in the Highlands Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Monday evening, July 9, 2012, from the Stevens Funeral Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
