Trudy Fenner Potter, 44, of Radford, Va., passed away Sunday, December 24, 2006 at her residence following a long battle with cancer. Trudy was born on October 31, 1962 in Banner Elk, N.C. to Gail Lester Fenner and the late Thelma Mae Gentry Fenner.

She was employed by First National Bank, Loan Operations, Christiansburg, Va., and was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family deeply and will truly be missed. She was a member of Dyson Grove Baptist Church, and attended regularly Radford Wesleyan Church, Radford, Va.

She is survived by her husband, SFC David Glenn Potter; two daughters, Davina Carol Younce and husband John of Mountain City, and Leticia Marie Potter of Radford, Va.; two grandchildren, Deanna Marie and MyKynna Mae Younce of Mountain City; two brothers, Roger Gail Fenner and wife Jennie of Mountain City, and Rick Thomas Fenner and wife Kim of Mountain City. Seven nieces; Tracy Combs, N.C., Cassandra Pusateri and husband Paul of Kingsport, Tenn., Trista Wilson and husband Jesse of Elizabethton, Erica and Chelsea Fenner of Mountain City, Amanda Burleson and husband John of Butler, and Miranda Issacs and husband Rusty of Elizabethton; one nephew, Ricky T. Fenner of Mountain City; and many special friends.

Special thanks are extended to Dr. Harry McCoy, Jan, Connie, and the staff of Oncology and Hematology Associates of South West Virginia, Dr. Karanita Ojomo and the staff of the New River Valley Cancer Care Center, Employees of First National Bank and the Loan Operations Department, Radford Wesleyan Church, and all her wonderful friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Hospital.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Brother Leonard Fletcher officiating. A private interment service will follow at Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Pusateri, Jesse Wilson, Mike Fenner, Frank Main, Maurice Widener, Terry Jordan, Edmond Manuel and Bruce Colman. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Anderson, Russell Quesenberry, Mike Rorrer, John Tibbs and Bob George. Music will be provided by the Fletcher family.
