Potapia, Helen Hedge

Helen Hedge Potapia, 85, of Radford, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008. She was a member of the West Radford Church of God and retired from the housekeeping department at Radford University. She was preceded in death by her husband William Potapia.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Darrell Hoover, of Radford; four grandchildren and their spouses, Sonja and Dean Phillips, Phillip and Deborah Hoover, Tracy and Tim Haga and David and Bridgette Hoover; six great-grandchildren, Amanda Hoover, Majesta Osborne, Samantha and Sarah Haga, Ciara Hoover and Madison Hoover; three sisters-in-law, Christine Parr, Chris Hedge and Nelda Hedge; two nieces, Ora Mae Farlow and Legale Bennett; one nephew, Nelson O’Neil; and a special great-niece, Heather Farlow.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the West Radford Church of God with the Rev. Arthur Harris and the Rev. Jim Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
