Porterfield, Beatrice Ann

Beatrice Ann (B. Ann) Porterfield, 79, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, September 30, 2012. She was born in Giles County April 9, 1933, to the late Clarence King and Anabel Keffer Reynolds She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Reynolds; and the father of her children, William Porterfield. The Hokie Nation has lost a pioneer supporter, having been a season ticket holder for almost 50 years. She retired a year ago after 59 years of service from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Steve Shaver, of Chesterfield; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Debbie Porterfield, of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Rachel Shaver, Grayson Porterfield and T.J. Rife and spouse, Rebecca; great-granddaughter, Hannah Rife; sisters-in-law, Katherine Reynolds, of Bland, Jane Murley, of Blacksburg; brother-in-law, John Atkins, of Maybrook. Memorial services will be conducted 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2012, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Shake Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
