Porter, Mary Bacon

Mary Bacon Porter, 99, of Radford, Va., passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at the Kroontje Health Care Center in Blacksburg. She was a member of The First Baptist Church in Radford and a retired manager with Sears for over 25 years.

She was preceded in death in 1961 by her husband, H.T. Porter. Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Vada Boyd, of Radford.

Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 10, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Radford with Dr. Paul Lane and the Rev. Kent Taylor officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Porter requested that memorial contributions be made to the Vision Property Fund of First Baptist Church in Radford.

The family would like to extend special thanks to The Kroontje Health Care Center and Good Samaritan Hospice for the excellent care given to Mary.
