Ruth Ellen Poff, 92, of Floyd, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Alton Poff; sons, Charles William Poff and Billy Monroe Poff; daughter, Lucy Jane Riggins; grandson, George Huston Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Pauline Wood, of Floyd; Ethel Marie Clark, of Vinton; Mildred Ruth McCullough, of Kingsport, Tenn.; daughter-in-law, Priscilla Ann Poff, of Willis; brother, James Janney; sister, Beatrice Spreaker; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Billy Monroe Poff officiating. Interment will follow in Restvale Cemetery.
