amem-lilacsMargaret Brendlinger Plymire (1937-2015) Generous of heart describes Margaret Brendlinger Plymire, 77, of Radford, Va. Though her life ended on Aug. 7, 2015, her example lives on.

Her dream was to be an interior designer, but her parents’ path for her was to become a nurse. Upon completing her bachelor’s degree in nursing, she became a registered nurse. Serving in many areas in the hospital, Margaret brought comfort to her patients. While working selflessly, she raised four girls, and cared for her husband. After retiring, she continued to help her friends and family. She was blessed to watch her grandchildren, whom she loved, grow into compassionate adults.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Maybelle and Henry Brendlinger, her loving husband, Boyd G. Plymire of Radford, Va., her youngest grandchild, Kelly Ryan of Christiansburg, Va., and her sister, Hellen Cassidy of Cottonwood, Ariz.

She is survived by her sister, Arlene Palguta of Somerset, Pa., her children; Penna Rogers and her husband Jerry L. Rogers of Wakefield, Va., Beth Plymire-Stovall of Roanoke, Va., Gwynne Ryan and her husband Stephen Ryan of Christiansburg, Va., and Melinda Williams of Radford, Va., and her grandchildren; Crystal Williams, Brandon Williams, Max Stovall, and Kayleigh Jo Ryan.

Services will be held in the gardens on the CrossPointe Campus, Christiansburg, Va., on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at 2 p.m. Pastor John Coleman presiding.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be sent to Radford Public Library, 30 West Main Street, Radford, Va. 24141, or that you spend time with family.
