Frances (Frankie) McKinney Plunkett, 93, of Blacksburg, died Friday, February 1, 2008, at Heritage Hall Health Care Center.

She was born in Bedford, Va. on October 23, 1914, to the late Robert and Emma McKinney. She was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Plunkett Jr.; her son, William W. Plunkett III; her sister, Lorene Ryder Waldron; and her brother, Robert (Bud) McKinney. Frances and her husband owned Blue Ridge Produce Co. in Roanoke, Charlottesville and Fort Valley, Ga. where she worked as a bookkeeper.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverley and Larry Moubry, of Pinhurst, N.C.; her daughter-in-law, Lorraine Plunkett, of Blacksburg; her sister-in-law, Sarah M. Plunkett, of Roanoke; her grandchildren, Shane Moubry and wife, Amy, Lori Belcher and husband, Pat, Lynn Van Gosen and husband, Paul, Holly Plunkett and fiance, Donnie Turner, Bill Plunkett; great-grandchildren, Laurel Belcher, Bryan Belcher, Joshua Harris, Sara Van Gosen, Jake Moubry, Davis Moubry; special niece, Georgia Ann Hill, of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews that are all dear to her.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 4, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Roanoke Valley Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Pete Bain officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Burial Park, Roanoke, Va. at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
